GridSoftToken for Windows, Mac OSX & Linux

Provides instructions for installation of GridSofToken on Windows, Mac OSX & Linux. The instructions for all 3 platforms are very similar as the GridSoftToken client is installed as Java Web Start application.

Client requirements

The client should have Java version 1.5 or higher installed. Both 32-bit and 64-bit Java versions are supported.

Click on Installation Link
  1. Click on a link such as the one provided above to launch the GridSoftToken client on your computer.

Note: Depending on the nature of the platform GridGuard is integrated with the look and feel of the page might be different from what is pictured above.

Accept Run Application Request

A prompt will be displayed to yoy requesting permission to run the application.

  1. Verify that the application has been signed by SyferLock Technology Corporation, before you run the application
  2. Optional: If you do not want this warning displayed in the future, check the box Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above
  3. Click Run to continue

Accept Security Warning

Accept Security Warning

A security warning will be displayed to yoy requesting permission to run the application with unrestricted access. This level of access is required for the app to store settings on your filesystem / registry.

  1. Verify that the application has been signed by SyferLock Technology Corporation, before you run the application
  2. Optional: If you do not want this warning displayed in the future, check the box Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above
  3. Click Run to continue

Enter Passphrase, if necessary

If your GridSoftToken realm has been setup for passphrase based tokens, a dialog prompting you to enter your passphrase is displayed

  1. Enter Passphrase. Passphrase should be atleast 10 characters long and can include spaces
  2. Confirm Passphrase by entering it a second time
  3. Click OK to save settings

Serial Number

Serial Number

The serial number for the token will be displayed on this next screen. Use this serial number to register this GridSoftToken client to your account at registration or through Security Center.

Uninstalling GridSoftToken

Uninstalling GridSoftToken

To uninstall the GridSoftToken client, follow the instructions below:

  1. Launch Java from the operating system Control panel and switch to the General tab
  2. Click View under the Temporary Internet Files section
  3. The Java Cache Viewer is displayed. Select the GridSoftToken entry from the list of applications
  4. Click on the X (in red), to delete the application. Once delete is complete a message saying GridSoftToken Uninstall Complete will be displayed.
