Log on to the PingFederate administrative console and click Adapters from the My IdP Configuration side of the Main Menu screen

Click Create New Instance

Enter an Instance Name and Instance Id.

Make sure the type is set to ReferenceID Adapter 1.2

Click Next

1. Set the Authentication Endpoint to point to your GridGuard server. The URL should be formatted as https://<gridguard_server>/gridguard/Start?realm=<realm_name>, where <gridguard_server> should be replaced with the fully qualified domain name of the Gridguard server, and <realm_name> should be replaced with the name of the Gridguard realm that wll be used to authenticate the user
2. Set the User Name field to user
3. Set the Pass Phrase to any value you desire. Note this value down as you will need this while setting up the GridGuard realm.
4. All other fields are optional. Click Next

No action required on this screen. Click Next

Extend the contract as necessary. Add attributes you expect to retrieve in addition to the SAML subject (user ID).

For e.g., if you are using email addresses as the name identifier, extend the contract to add a field to capture the email address (in this example named mail)

Click Next

Select the subject as the Pseudonym

Click Next

Click Done to complete ReferenceID Adapter Setup

Click Save to save the Reference ID Adpater configuration
