Generating encryption keys

Encryption keys are used to encrypt GridPIN and corner information that is stored on the GridGuard server.

Each installation of the GridGuard server (unless the servers are in a cluster) should use unique keys so that the encrypted data is secure.

All servers in a cluster should use the same encryption keys (both proxy & cryptographic key) so that when the data is replicated across the cluster, it can be decrypted successfully. For additional details, see the manual on cluster configuration.

  2. Click 'Generate New Key'. Key generation will take a couple of minutes. Once the key is generated, it will be added to the 'Encryption Keys In Use' table
